Virtual receptionist for dental clinics

The AI receptionist for your dental clinic

In a dental clinic the phone always rings just as the nurse is in the surgery. Every unanswered call could be a first implant or orthodontics visit that ends up at the clinic across the road. DevRoam answers on the first ring, tells a check-up from an emergency and books into your free slots.

Example · Illustrative scenario A call at 9:40 pm to a closed clinic.

Roa (AI)

Clínica Dental Sonrisa, good evening. I'm Roa, the virtual assistant. How can I help you?

Caller

I've had really bad toothache since this afternoon.

Roa (AI)

I'm sorry to hear that. Tomorrow we have an emergency slot at 9:15 with Dr Ruiz. Shall I book it for you?

Caller

Yes, please.

Roa (AI)

Done. I'll send you the confirmation on WhatsApp with the address. If the pain gets worse or you develop a fever, go to A&E.

Illustrative script. Real answers depend on the rules you set up for dental clinics.

What happens to you today

  • Reception is looking after a patient in person and the phone keeps ringing.
  • Patients in pain who call after hours and don't know what to do.
  • Empty slots from forgotten appointments nobody confirmed.
  • The same questions about guide prices, financing and insurance.

What DevRoam does

  • First visits. Collects the reason, details and preferred time, and books into the right dentist's diary.
  • Emergencies. Follows your protocol: gives a first-thing emergency appointment or transfers the call if you say so.
  • Reminders. Confirms on WhatsApp with the option to cancel.
  • Frequent questions. Answers about hours, parking, financing or insurers with the answers you approve.

Typical rules set by dental clinics

They're written in plain language, just as you'd explain them to a new member of staff:

"Never give diagnoses or clinical recommendations.""Implant prices: only 'from' prices, and offer a first visit.""If there's swelling or fever, put the call through to the dentist."

FAQs from dental clinics

Can DevRoam give clinical information to patients?

No. We set it up not to give diagnoses or medical advice: it records the reason, books the appointment and, if you say so, transfers the call to the clinical team.

Does it integrate with my dental practice software?

On the Professional plan your schedule shows in Google Calendar or Outlook by subscription (two-way sync is coming soon) and it connects with your CRM via API and webhooks. Integrations with specific dental software are in development; in the meantime, you can see your DevRoam schedule in your calendar by subscription.

How does it handle health data?

Health data is a special category under the GDPR. DevRoam only collects what's needed for the appointment (the general reason), encrypts the information and signs a data processing agreement with you.

Does the patient know they're talking to an AI?

Yes. Roa introduces itself as a virtual assistant at the start of the call, as required by EU AI regulation.
