How to reduce appointment no-shows with WhatsApp reminders
Practical strategies to stop customers missing their appointments: instant confirmation, WhatsApp reminders, a cancellation policy and a waiting list.

An empty slot because someone didn't turn up costs the same as a missed call: diary time you never get back. The good news is that no-shows go down with simple, consistent processes.
1. Confirm on the spot
When someone books by phone, instantly send a message with the day, time, service and address. A written appointment is forgotten less often than a spoken one.
2. Remind the day before
A reminder 24 hours before, with the option to confirm or cancel by replying. If they cancel, at least you get the slot back in time.
3. Make cancelling easy
It sounds counter-intuitive, but if cancelling is easy, customers let you know instead of simply not showing up.
4. Waiting list
When a slot frees up, offer it to someone who asked for that time and didn't get it. With an AI assistant, this can happen automatically.
5. A clear cancellation policy
Explain your policy (for example, 24 hours' notice) when booking and in the reminder. For long or expensive services, some businesses ask for a deposit.
6. Measure
Count your no-shows every month. Without measuring, you won't know whether what you're doing works.
How DevRoam does it
When Roa books an appointment by phone, it sends the confirmation by WhatsApp and, if you set it up, sends a reminder beforehand. See how it works or examples by industry: dental clinics, physiotherapy, hair salons.
