Virtual receptionist for recording studios

You at the mixing desk, Roa on the phone

You can't pick up in the middle of a take. By the time the session ends, the band that wanted to book Saturday has already called another studio. DevRoam answers for you, books the hours they need in the room or with the right engineer, and notes down the project.

Roa (AI)

Estudio Onda, I'm Roa, the virtual assistant. How can I help?

Caller

We'd like to record a demo on Saturday, about four hours.

Roa (AI)

On Saturday I have the large room free from 10:00 to 14:00 with an engineer. How many of you are there and what instruments are you bringing?

Caller

Four: drums, bass, guitar and vocals.

Roa (AI)

Booked and noted. I'll send you the confirmation on WhatsApp with the studio's deposit terms.

Illustrative script. Real answers depend on the rules you set up for recording studios.

What happens to you today

  • You're recording or mixing and the phone rings in the middle of a take.
  • Many calls ask the same things: free hours, rooms and booking terms.
  • Bookings that fall through because nobody explained the deposit or what to bring.
  • Musicians who call at night, after rehearsal.

What DevRoam does

  • Hourly sessions. Books 1, 2, 4 or 8 hours according to your services, with the buffer between sessions that you set.
  • By room or engineer. Each room and each engineer has their own calendar; if they ask for a specific one, Roa respects it.
  • Deposits and terms. Explains your deposit terms exactly as you write them. Roa doesn't take payment: you handle it.
  • Project notes. Notes the session type, number of musicians and instruments so you can prepare the room.

Typical rules set by recording studios

They're written in plain language, just as you'd explain them to a new member of staff:

"Multi-day projects: take a message for a quote.""If they ask for an engineer, book with an available engineer.""Mention the deposit when confirming."

FAQs from recording studios

Can it collect the deposit?

Yes, from the Professional plan: you connect your own Stripe account and the customer pays the deposit from their booking link; the money goes straight to your account, with no DevRoam commission (only Stripe's fees). If you'd rather collect it yourself, Roa explains your terms and shows them on the booking page.

Can I have several rooms and engineers?

Yes. On the Professional plan or above, each room or engineer is a team resource with its own calendar and hours.

Who sets the prices?

You do. The template includes typical sessions and durations without prices; you add your own and Roa never makes up a rate.

Does it handle musicians from abroad?

Yes. Roa speaks Spanish, English, German, French, Italian and Portuguese if you enable them.
